I think that Charlie was kind of an average guy that just happened to be a rock star.
I think he was way above average but just not in any way you could see.
Was that .. lurching swung thing anywhere before the Stones did it?
Blues records were rhythmically rough but not like that.
It's like three or four versions of just the right amount of wrong
put together to where it's ... what it is.
But yeah - he and Wyman have always seemed like really ordinary people.
And these days, even Keef just seems like that.
Post by Lulu PakaloloRead somewhere that he had sketched every hotel room that he had stayed in while on tour with the Stones. I thought that was an interesting insight into the man.
