Post by JoeHello,
I am beginner.
From a stop to the luthier I learned that my Behringer guitar has a
bow neck. Firstly I wanted to exchange for a new one but I think I
will go for another brand. It will be returned in 1-2 days.
In a beginner perspective what do you think of ***Drive Guitars
Wildfire Extreme 2***. It looks nice and review on Web seems nice.
Only problems is tone buttons cheap. It got awesome sustain based on
users review.
I have to color to choose from. Mine will be Atomic Red.
So what you think?
I've never seen any drive products anywhere but on pawnshop shelves..
and I've never seen one of their guitars, period.
That doesn't mean they are bad.. but it's a possible indicator.
I thought the fender squier 51 was an excellent suggestion for you..
MF has them for 99.00.. I've owned one, and it was pretty damned
sweet.. played very nicely, good sounds. well made.
and pretty easy to upgrade later on.. lots of parts available.
I don't know anything about the Maiden guitars.
I only found the drive wildfire, and extreme 3 guitars ..
the basic wildfire has a strange bridge.. so it wont be
upgradeable..other than that they look ok.
MF has a good return policy.. only costs you shipping, but both ways,
I think.. kind of expensive gamble.
Nothing wrong with red!
the 51 will have one humbuck and one single coil..
the drive I think.. has two humbucks.
I have some kit guitars I've got built and unbuilt.. I think you'd be
more interested in a finished peice.
But right now all I have done is a funky tele I had a bit of fun
with... though a good guitar, it doesn't seem like what you're looking
for.
but, I also have a basswood body.. jackson dinky shape.. twin humbuck,
floyd rose licensed tremolo, locking nut, black, with black hardware
and a hardshell case..binding on body and neck, too.
150.00.
money happily refunded if not satisfied.. and that included the
shipping you paid to get it.
IOW if you hated it.. you'd only be stuck for shipping it back.
It plays fast.. the pickups are sweet.. the trem works nicely..
Since I've owned the squeir 51, and have had many low end guitars
personally and in my shop.. I can recommend this easily.
I've got two.. the other one is the same but with skull inlays on the
board.
These are both discontinued.. (lawsuit threatened..) guitars that went
a bit too far in copying a major brand.
I sold one to a friend of my sons a few months ago.. and he's had no
problems at all.
I've sold another to a local guy about two months ago.. also no
complaints at all.
pics available.
the floyd is hard for a beginner.. nice to be able to do those dive
bombs and come back in tune.... but difficult to get used to setting
up.. you have to follow the floyd rose set up procedures. But it's ok
once you get on to it.
everyone complains a bit about floyds.... but the end value is pretty
good.
I was pretty surprised about the pickups... balanced, good power.. at
least as good as the squiers humbucker.
For strictly low price.. I think that 51 squier is hard to beat..
for a little more money.. and no trem.. epiphone special II is hard to
beat..
very solid little guitars. easy set up.. good tones. nice fretwork...
