I have a video clip of Rory playing 'Souped Up Ford' with a Black Tele/maple
fretboard. Its from his appearance on The Old Grey Whistle Test in 1976. I
tell you, this clip is just a delight to view. If anyone loves Rory you have
GOT to get this clip (113 mb ). I got it off a P2P....look around. He
absolutely
explodes on stage and the band is throttled. The best part is watching how
much fun Rory has playing. He truly loved it and it shows. In fact, when the
show ends, Rory plays on for another 13 minutes. The crowd roars at the end.
Just great. God, I miss him!

Post by StratomasterPost by Cabo WaboI know he kept it real basic, but does anyone know exactly what he used,
as far as amps, settings, etc? I know he used Fender Strats, but were
they hot-rodded in any way with high-performance pickups or anything
like that? Much appreciated!!
I believe he used simply a Fender Twin Reverb. No effects or anything,
he just plugged straight into the amp. His Strats were also stock. He
might have upgraded his equipment late in his life, but I didn't really
follow him after about 1984.
